MAGe
A PDF becomes a readable, embeddable digital magazine — currently offline
Status: offline
The standalone MAGe service is not currently running. It was hosted on infrastructure retired in July 2026. The publishing capability itself is registered and loaded inside the Sigil platform today; the separate hosted product is what is down.
What it does
You upload a PDF — a magazine, a catalogue, a report, a programme — and MAGe renders it into a page-turning reader that works in a browser and embeds in a website, with search across the text and analytics on what people actually read.
The reason it exists is that the alternative for most small publishers is either a flat PDF download, which tells you nothing, or a subscription to a hosted reader at a price built for large publishers.
What was built
PDF to page-turning reader
Server-side rendering of each page, producing a reader that behaves like a publication rather than a scroll of images.
Embeddable in any site
The reader drops into an existing website rather than sending readers away to a third-party domain.
Search inside the issue
Semantic search across the publication text, so a reader can find a page instead of flipping to it.
Reading analytics
Views, page turns and link clicks, which is the thing a flat PDF download can never tell a publisher.
White-label presentation
The reader carries the publisher's identity rather than a platform's branding.
Inside Sigil today
The publishing plugin is registered and loading in the Sigil platform, which is where this capability is being taken forward.
